  1. Receive an email confirmation.

First, you should have received an email confirmation that your app was submitted.

2. Check your application status.

You will receive an email invitation from techsupport@ac-housingsecure.org to log in to our application portal. Here, you can check the status of your application any time!

What does my application status mean?

What it means if your application status reads:

Initial Processing: Your application has been assigned to an application coordinator. In the portal, you can see how to get in touch with them. We encourage you to reach out to your coordinator to finalize your application and gather any documents you may need.

Application Received: Your application is in the system successfully but has not yet been assigned to a coordinator. Applications are processed based on a prioritization score determined by need and risk of homelessness, not by submission date.

Compliance Review: We are reviewing your application to ensure all documents have been submitted correctly before approval.

Approved: Your application has been approved for payment. The check request has been moved to the finance team.

Payments Tab: You can track the status of your payment and know if the request has been created, approved, and sent.

What does my prioritization score mean?

When you check your application in the portal, there is a prioritization score on a scale from 0 to 17. This is determined after an initial review of your application based on risk factors for housing instability and homelessness. Applications with a higher score will be assigned more quickly to an application coordinator organization. Lower scores may be prioritized if the landlord is a small landlord with fewer than 5 units.

3. *IMPORTANT* Work with your coordinator.

Once your application is processed in the portal, you will be assigned an application coordinator. They will reach out to you and you will be able to see their contact information in the portal. PLEASE connect with them to help finalize the application and gather any documents you may need. If you've applied, be sure to check your phone and email for a follow up from one of our partners:

4. Please be patient.

We have scaled up our processing and have onboarded more organizations to help!

In the meantime, please be patient. Funds are prioritized to go to those most at risk of homelessness. Almost all evictions are currently paused.

5. Get your bills paid!

When your application is approved, money will go directly to the landlord or utility provider to cover up to 18 months of past rent/utilities to promote stability, so you can have one less worry.
